Warhammer 40K: Darktide - Psyker Build

In Warhammer 40,000: Darktide you can create many interesting character builds. In this guide we will present the build for Psyker.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is currently in early access, so the game is still under development. Even at this stage, the game enables you to create many interesting builds. In this guide we will present the skills with which you can create a very effective build for the Psyker.

The guide is based on the preorder beta version of the game. Skills and weapons may change over time.

If you are curious about other Darktide topics, please see our guide - Warhammer 40K: Darktide Guide.

Psyker characteristics

Psyker is a character who, due to his relatively low defense, does not do well in close combat, although some skills mean that when fighting with a sword he can also inflict considerable damage. Players therefore prefer to defeat opponents without getting too close to them. Therefore, it is worth creating a build that will enable us to engage in efficient ranged combat..

Psyker skills

Below are the skills found in the game. If you want to learn more about them, read the guide on classes.

  1. Blitz

Brain Burst - Target an Enemy and charge the ability to deal high damage.

  1. Aura

Kinetic Presence - Allies in Coherency gain 10 amage to Elite Enemies.

  1. Iconic

Warp Syphon - Killing an Enemy with Brain Burst earns Warp Charge. Each Charge grants 3% damage. Warp Charges are retained for 25s. You can store up to 4 Charges.

Battle Meditation - 10% chance to Quell 10% peril on Kill.

Psyker build

One of the most efficient builds is the one that focuses on bursting heads, so when choosing skills, it's worth deciding on ones that are related to Brain Burst. It is worth deciding on the following selection:

  1. Warp Absorption (lvl 5) - Replenish 20% Toughness when You kill an Enemy with Warp attack. The skill we rely on, Brain Burst, belongs to Warp Attack, so Warp Absorption should be activated.
  2. Quietude (lvl 10) - Replenish 10% Toughness for each 10% of Peril Quelled. With this skill, our character will be slightly strengthened, which is very useful at the beginning of the game and translates into faster leveling.
  3. Cerebral Lacerations (lvl 15) - Damaging an enemy with your Brain Burst ability causing them to take 15 damage from all non warp sources. With this ability we will be able to deal 15% more damage with standard ranged weapons.
  4. Kinetic Shield (lvl 20) - Take between 10% or 33% reduced Toughness damage from ranged attacks based on your current number of Warp Charges. Psyker has relatively low defense and is prone to receiving high damage, so it is worth activating Kinetic Shield.
  5. Kinetic Flayer (lvl 25) - All attacks have 10% chance on hit to Brain Burst the target. This cannot occur while on critical Peril, and has cooldown of 15s. This is one of the most important skills, as it offers as much as a 10% chance of Brain Burst during a normal attack. A cooldown of 15 seconds is not a very long wait.
  6. Ascendant Blaze (lvl 30) - Psykinetic's Wrath expends all Warp Charges and applied stacks of Soulblaze to enemy hit based on the number of Warp Charges expended. In a nutshell, this skill enables you to gain Warp Charges on a regular basis, which are much needed with other skills.

Best weapons for Psykers

If you want to make the above build even more effective, it is worth knowing which weapons will work best. In the case of melee weapons, a great choice will be Obscurus Mk II Force Sword. It is characterized by very high damage, and one of its strongest points is Special Action - Warp Charged.

When it comes to ranged weapons, the Accatran Mk II Recon Lasgun will work perfectly. Its greatest advantage is the combination of rapid fire, capacious magazine and relatively high damage.
